Witnesses told Reuters that they heard blasts in downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday, however, Dubai's official media office called these reports "false."

An independent investigation was launched in March, with interviews conducted with service members involved in the strike, but the results have yet to be released.

Meanwhile, US President Trump stated that Iran badly wants to settle with the United States, adding that Washington would decide whether or not to take such a step.

CENTCOM spokesman Navy Capt. Tim Hawkins told The Jerusalem Post that US forces remain ready to strike Iranian capabilities threatening commercial shipping.

Former foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that Iran should launch a ground war, seize a US base in the Middle East, kidnap its forces, and take them hostage in Iran, as retaliation for strikes.

The US fired strikes at Iran again, aiming to incapacitate some of the military forces used to attack the Strait of Hormuz.

In the letter, the US president described the Memorandum of Understanding as having been violated by Iran following its attacks on commercial vessels transiting through the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE Defense Ministry said the country retained its full right to respond and take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and security.

"The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade. Iran does not control it," CENTCOM said following its strikes on dozens of Iranian targets.

"During the five-hour mission, CENTCOM forces employed precision munitions against Iranian coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities," it announced.
