A Russian military court jailed a Belarusian man for 22 years over two 2023 bomb attacks on freight trains in Siberia that Moscow says were ordered by Ukraine’s intelligence services.

The French police carried out an operation in the Montparnasse train station in the centre of Paris and ordered its evacuation, a Reuters witness saw.

The man, believed to be approximately 35 years old, was transferred to Sourasky Medical Center in a serious, unstable condition by MDA paramedics, who noted that he is unconscious and on a ventilator.

Anthony Williams, 32, was charged with 11 counts of attempted murder, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of possession of a bladed article.

Transport minister Heidi Alexander would not comment if the suspect had any known mental health history.

Police initially arrested another man, but released him after investigations confirmed that he was not an attacker.

A video of a journalist from N12 having items thrown at her was shared on social media, where two reporters and their camera crew were attacked by protesters.

"This is an illegitimate decision that will prevent a huge public from reaching the rally and praying," Shas leader Arye Deri said.
