This was Cohen’s first extended public appearance implicating President Donald Trump in crimes that will send Cohen to prison for three years.

Cohen’s testimony will not come close to ending Trump’s presidency , but it may permanently damage it and make some charges against him likely once he no longer has presidential immunity.

Cohen will also tell Congress that Trump directed negotiations for a real estate project in Moscow, even as he publicly said he had no business interests in Russia.

"We stand by the reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing."

BBC reported in May that individuals associated with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko sought a direct channel to the president, and used Port Washington connections to reach Cohen.
