Channel 14 commentators criticized Kushner and Witkoff's involvement in the US deal with Iran, claiming that they're turning their backs on the country in a time of need.

On Monday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said via Telegram that he had a “very positive conversation” with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. 

"Grateful for the readiness to work as actively as possible already in the weeks to come to give a boost to diplomacy for ending Russia's war against Ukraine," wrote Zelensky on Telegram.

According to US officials, several of the experts had traveled with Witkoff and Kushner to Oman prior to the start of Operation Epic Fury to negotiate with Iran on the nuclear issue.

Meanwhile, Tehran also doesn’t seem to be in a hurry. This comes as the White House has also indicated it is willing to settle in for the long term on the conflict with Iran.

Shortly before Trump announced the cancellation, two Pakistani government sources told Reuters that the Iranian delegation had left Islamabad.

Trumps told PBS News that he is unsure if the Iranians will attend the talks in Pakistan, while insisting that Tehran will not achieve nuclear weapon capability.
