Renewed clashes between Damascus forces and Kurdish units in Aleppo underscore how fragile efforts to integrate the SDF into Syria’s new security framework remain, despite ceasefire agreements.

Syrian Druze militias were attacked by troops allegedly linked with the Syrian government in the Sweida region, while clashes were reported in northern Syria, according to Syrian media.

Aleppo saw a wave of attacks on Monday that killed at least two civilians, with Syrian state media blaming SDF shelling and the SDF accusing government linked factions.

This is a serious incident and is part of a number of clashes over the last year between SDF fighters and groups backed by the new government in Damascus.

The site, located in the Al-Jemayliyah neighborhood, had reportedly been closed for decades. The event also included participation from an association operating in northern Syria.

'From the walls of Aleppo, we saw Damascus liberated, and from the walls of this citadel, we saw the fighters in the heart of Damascus. For us, Aleppo was the gateway to entering all of Syria.'

The event was set to be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Aleppo Library.
