Britain on Monday designated the IRGC and a linked group as a security threat under new powers aimed at preventing foreign states from using proxies for activities such as surveillance and sabotage.

“If settlements are illegal, why have we not made an outright ban on trade? What exactly is it that we’re waiting for?” said Abtisam Mohamed, a Labour politician.

The head of Britain's counter terrorism policing told reporters that law enforcement is still working to understand the motivation behind the murder of 78-year-old Ann Widdecombe.

The funding will deliver over 500 additional officers across England and Wales, boosting security in Jewish neighborhoods and around schools, synagogues and community centers, the government said.

The site, believed to have likely served as a focus for religious gatherings, bears extensive evidence of feasting and large-scale gatherings.
