Urgent guidelines were issued to medical laboratories after a malfunction in Roche test kits was found. Laboratories are urged to destroy all stock of the faulty kits and conduct new tests.

Israel’s measles outbreak has claimed an eighth victim, as cases spread to nine cities and vaccination rates surge.

The ministry said the sanctions followed serious management failures and procedural violations that led to the incident. Both employees have 30 days to appeal the ruling.

As one of the dietitians accompanying the hostages said: "The food here is not just fuel for the body, it is also part of the emotional healing process."

Each participating hospital has already prepared spacious, isolated, and fully accessible rooms designed to provide both medical care and full privacy.

The areas currently defined as outbreak zones are Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Bnei Brak, Harish, Modi’in Illit, Nof Hagalil, Kiryat Gat, Ashdod, and Safed.

The announcement followed a Thursday report of an attempted hack into the hospital’s servers during Yom Kippur that had been blocked, raising fears of broader damage.

The ministry stressed that measles is a highly contagious disease, characterized by fever, general malaise, runny nose, and rash, which may lead to severe and even life-threatening complications.

Higher copayments would likely increase the phenomenon of forgoing medicines and medical services due to cost, which may increase state revenues.

A Health Ministry report described the systematic starvation, as well as physical and emotional torture, carried out by Hamas terrorists on hostages released from Gaza earlier this year.
