Will the ultra-Orthodox allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu one last chance to push through the controversial haredi conscription law?

He said that in the past two days, Netanyahu and his office have been exerting a massive pressure campaign on coalition MKs to convince them to support the draft legislation. 

Haskel told The Jerusalem Post that over the weekend, “phone calls were made to almost all coalition members in order to check their positions and pressure them to vote on the conscription law.”

The haredi draft issue is growing in urgency as the bill returned to the Knesset agenda amid a coalition crisis that may dissolve the Knesset.

Liberman says Netanyahu is prioritizing personal legal interests over national security and rejects any future coalition with ultra-Orthodox parties.

His comments come after reports of contacts regarding a possible merger between his party and Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu, who has repeatedly criticized 'draft-dodging.'

The tensions come after the crisis in Netanyahu’s coalition with the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) parties over the controversial conscription law.

The remarks came on Tuesday, as Bennett outlined his plans for the country if elected, alongside opposition leader Yair Lapid, at the first major campaign event of their newly merged Together party.
