The Manchester Odyssey dates back to the third century BCE  in Egypt, around the time scrolls went out of fashion and “bound” books became more popular. 

The lead curse tablet found in the Netherlands was discovered by a team of Dutch archaeologists in a pit beneath the town hall square of the Roman military settlement of Coriovallum.

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias said Greece "would not welcome" Turkey receiving either F-35 fighter jets or engines for its next-generation Turkish "Kaan" combat aircraft.

The temple dates back to Egypt’s 26th Dynasty, the last native dynasty of ancient Egypt before the Persian conquest in 525 BCE.

The external scaffolding hiding the Parthenon’s western face was removed in early June following the completion of the monument’s back wall.

Several painted plaster and barrel-shaped pottery coffin, among those most common coffin types in the Ptolemaic period,  were also found at the site.

The finds include the ruins of a Roman basilica and Doric temple, the head of a marble statue of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, several cartouches, and molds used to mint coins in the Roman period.

According to police, the allegations were believed to relate to Iran and to the targeting of a British-based journalist at Iran International, which is critical of Tehran's government.

The mosaic was first discovered nearly 30 years ago by Turkish archaeologists during excavations in the ancient city of Zeugma.

Among the most significant items unveiled at the ceremony were a marble head of Alexander the Great dating to the first century CE, which was stolen from a Rome museum in 1960.
