Trump says 'restraining order needed' against Meloni in social media post ahead of NATO summit

Last month, Meloni accused Trump of fabricating a story about her after the US president told an Italian TV channel that she had "begged" him to take a photo with her at a G7 summit in France.

France softens stance on selling Franco-Italian air-defense system to Turkey, sources say

France's foreign ministry declined to comment and referred to the French presidency, as did the defense ministry. Turkey's foreign ministry did not respond to requests for comment.

Meloni said she was astonished by his comments, which were "completely made up." She also chided him for acting with far greater deference to the enemies of the West than he does towards old allies.
