Kisch made the remarks after conducting a situational assessment at the Nahariya Municipality in the North, almost two weeks after the shutdown of schools, daycares, and kindergartens nationwide.

Kisch explained that he was preparing for the possibility that the war could last weeks and that he would not comprime of on student safety during that time.

Knesset members raised concerns about the pedagogical effectiveness of distance learning and the fact that many students lack reliable access to computers at home. 

The proposed bill aims to establish the Early Childhood Authority, a new government body within the Education Ministry.

The audit reviewed government and local authority actions over an extended period following the October 7 attack and focuses on failures in civilian recovery.

"Violence against teaching staff is becoming an everyday phenomenon that we must not normalize," Teachers Union Chairman Michael Pinto said in a statement on Monday.

The proposal is divided into five chapters and centers on improving conditions for both teachers and students through an investment of billions of shekels in the education system.

According to Kamal Abu Younis, principal of Ibn Khaldun Elementary School in Sakhnin, a group of yeshiva students spat on the Sakhnin students, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray, and beat them. 

At the January hearing, the High Court ordered the state to submit all documents in its possession relating to core-curriculum instruction in the networks.

Education Minister Yoav Kisch requested a professional oversight unit to review complaints that highly critical Haaretz content has been included in high school exams.
