Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett accidentally revealed the identity of one of his Shin Bet Personal Security Unit bodyguards in a social media post, according to a KAN News report on Wednesday.

Bennett revealed the security guard’s name and picture, both of which are prohibited by Shin Bet for safety reasons.

Shin Bet disallows the publication of its officers' identities, even after their duties are over.

Bennett was ordered to remove the post immediately.

In a statement regarding the incident, Bennett's office described the post as a “mistake made in good faith.”

“The post described a moving story about Bennett's meeting with one of the greatest commanders to ever rise in the IDF,” Bennett’s office added, confirming that the post had been deleted.

Friction between Bennett, Shin Bet

This was the second incident of friction between Bennett and his Shin Bet guards.

A few weeks ago, according to KAN, Bennett published his location in real-time while in Narariya, creating what Shin Bet labeled a "security risk."
