The IDF is searching for a terrorist who threw rocks at vehicles driving on Highway 60 in the Madama area in the West Bank after a 5-year-old child was wounded on Thursday.
The child was mildly wounded by shards of glass from the windshield of the car they were traveling in, which was shattered by one of the thrown rocks. Magen David Adom paramedics responded to the scene and treated the child’s injuries.
The IDF initiated an extensive search in the area to locate the terrorist responsible for the stone throwing.
The village of Madama was cordoned off as Israeli forces conducted searches of the village and surrounding roads.
Additional West Bank rock-throwing incident
Earlier this month, an Israeli was severely wounded after being hit in the head by a rock thrown by a Palestinian in the West Bank.
The IDF dispatched several soldiers to the scene of the incident, near the village of Tayasir, after receiving reports that several Palestinians were throwing rocks at Israeli settlers.
An off-duty soldier shot and killed the man he suspected of having thrown the rock that wounded the Israeli. The IDF stated that the incident was “under review” after the Palestinian and Israeli were evacuated to a hospital.
