The mermaid silhouette has long since evolved, moving away from the rigid look of the past. In the new collections, Israeli designers demonstrate how a single silhouette, which hugs the body's curves and opens dramatically at the bottom, can take on completely different faces: From avant-garde sleeve play and architectural volumes, through sheer couture corsets, to soft, flowing lace and drape work. Each designer and their unique perspective on the most feminine silhouette out there.

Alon Livne: Architectural drama and sculptural sleeves
Alon Livne takes the mermaid silhouette into the realms of daring high fashion. The dress features a rich taffeta fabric with dense ruching (drape) along the entire body, creating a super–sculpting and modern texture. The real drama arrives at the top with giant, sculptural puffed sleeves falling from the shoulders, creating a perfect contrast between an avant-garde upper body and a tight skirt that opens into a clean fan at the bottom.

Berta: Hollywood glamour and a sophisticated halter neck
At Berta, feminine sculpting comes with a boost of glam and luxury. The dress is based on delicate interplays of transparency and rich lace, entirely interwoven with a subtle shimmer. The mermaid silhouette sculpts the body and is adorned with a high, updated, and noble halter neck that leaves the shoulders bare. The geometric cut–out sections at the sides of the waist emphasize the narrow silhouette and open into a flowing, high–presence lace train.

Galia Lahav: Classic couture corset and romantic lace
Galia Lahav presents the precise combination of refined sexiness and classic elegance. The dress relies on a structured corset with emphasized cups and a deep sweetheart neckline, from which short, dropped sleeves adorned with three–dimensional applications fall. The organic lace work is woven throughout the entire dress, hugging the hips and opening into a wide, royal fan train rich in detail.

Inbal Dror: Daring transparencies and European lightness
Inbal Dror's interpretation brings plenty of audacity, lightness, and effortless style. The entire dress is made of beautiful, semi–sheer floral lace placed over a nude lining that creates a "second skin" effect. The exposed corset with a deep neckline merges seamlessly with the tight fit, which expands at the bottom into a soft, airy, and romantic tulle train that moves together with the body.

Dana Harel: Elegant nostalgia and long sleeves
Dana Harel offers a refined, soft, and intellectual approach to the mermaid silhouette. The dress, made entirely of rich crochet lace in a classic pattern, features long, tight sleeves and a wide, feminine scoop neckline. The cut hugs the body softly rather than rigidly, with the dress expanding gently from the knee down, providing a cool, nostalgic, and chic look.

Lihi Hod: Parisian couture and a surprising peplum skirt
At Lihi Hod, the mermaid silhouette receives a sophisticated and unusual design twist. The strapless dress, made of delicate lace with a shimmering texture, features a peplum skirt (a short, sculpted layer) above the waist and hip line. This structural element breaks the conventional look of the silhouette, adds a subtle architectural volume at the waist, and continues into a tight skirt that opens into a long, flowing couture train.

Dror Kontento: Daring frontal cut and a clean silhouette
Dror Kontento creates an elegant, graphic, and highly charismatic look. The strapless dress is made of rich geometric guipure lace, with a deep, sheer vertical cut (illusion fabric) integrated into the center of the upper body, extending down to the waistline and providing an illusion of length and height. A delicate knot gathering is integrated at the waist area to collect the fabric, and from there, the dress flows tightly to the floor.

Shlomit Azrad: Three–dimensional lace and a timeless strapless neckline
Shlomit Azrad presents the most classic and flattering version of the mermaid silhouette, with a focus on rich fabric texture. The strapless dress features a refined sweetheart neckline and a sculpting corset, and is entirely covered in rich lace applications with a prominent three–dimensional effect. The dress precisely follows the lines of the body and opens at the bottom into a wide, dramatic fan of lace and tulle.

Galit Robinik: Exposed corset and soft tie straps
Galit Robinik combines a sexy corset structure with soft, romantic elements. The dress is constructed from a semi–sheer corset with built–in boning and a deep V–cut at the center of the chest, to which delicate spaghetti straps are attached, tying in soft bows on the shoulders. The delicate bridal lace flows along the hips, and continues into a flowing mermaid skirt with a clean, rounded train.
