There are moments when fashion stops being about clothes and becomes something else entirely - a statement, a memory, or even, you could say, a sense of home. That’s exactly what happened when Shiran Margot and Ella Kaliski, two Israeli designers behind the brand Margot, landed in New York with their new collection COLLAGE, and did exactly what its name promises: They connected worlds and created something greater than the sum of its parts.

New York in April

New York Bridal Fashion Week, NYFW Bridal, returned to the city in early April, bringing with it the atmosphere that only New York knows how to create - intimate presentations, buyers from all over the world, and a sense that something is about to happen. This isn’t a stage for loud runway shows and flashes from every direction, but rather a week where people speak softly and listen to what the collection wants to say. Exactly the kind of stage Margot chose, and not by chance.

Among this year’s participants were also Israeli designers such as Galia Lahav, Lihi Hod, and Mira Zwillinger - names that prove Israeli fashion has long stopped coming to New York to be impressed, and instead comes to impress. Within this group, Margot stood out with a different approach: Not a bride, not a ceremony - but a woman.

COLLAGE: When Contrasts Become a Song

The collection didn’t come out of thin air - it was built from a genuine love for a specific era. The 1990s were a time when fashion didn’t try to please everyone. A supermodel with loose hair and a direct gaze into the camera. Clean minimalism alongside unapologetic glamour. Shiran and Ella took that spirit and built from it a collection that feels simultaneously nostalgic and completely relevant to now.

The name of the collection, COLLAGE, is both the concept and the working method: Connecting opposites into one complete creation. Softness alongside precise structure. Vintage lines cut with modern sharpness. Everyday garments that feel like couture. Each piece is like a collage of influences - and that’s why every look in the collection feels like it said exactly what it meant to say, without a single unnecessary word.

The Margot Woman

But beyond the fabric and the cut, what Margot brings is a figure. “The Margot Woman” is not a description - it’s an aspiration. The right girl, in the right place, at the right time. An IT GIRL and CLEAN GIRL in one. She knows exactly what she wants and doesn’t seek anyone’s approval. Everything she touches becomes a trend, not because she tries, but simply because she is who she is. This is not a fantasy - it’s a worldview that permeates every detail of the collection, every choice of fabric, every cut made with a steady hand and a sharp eye.

When You Have Something to Say, You Don’t Need to Raise Your Voice

There’s something moving about seeing two Israelis standing among the best in the world without feeling the need to apologize for it. Shiran and Ella didn’t come to New York to prove anything - they came because they have something to say. COLLAGE is proof that you can take inspiration from an entire era, break it apart, reassemble it, and come out with something that feels personal and precise.

New York welcomed them with open arms. And rightfully so.

Anyone who loves and lives fashion will agree that there are moments that are especially moving. The kind that hit you in the gut and don’t let go. COLLAGE did that to me - the moment the images reached me, I felt something hard to describe, like longing for a place I’m not even sure I’ve been to. The scent of the ’90s, the feeling of a film you wanted to be part of. And then I realized it’s no coincidence - because I have a very personal reason to be excited about this collection. A reason I will reveal later. Until then - let the images speak for themselves.
