Iran claimed that Israel is attempting to sow division within the country, a written statement attributed to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei alleged on Thursday.

The "Israeli regime and its supporters" changed strategy after a "military setback," and have "turned efforts aimed at weakening public resiliance and influencing the decisions of Iranian officials," his statement read.

The statement also warned that Israel's tools include "spreading doubt, fear, despair, mistrust, and division within society."

In response, he called on Iranians to "counter these efforts through unity, vigilance, mutual trust, and national solidarity," and said that Iranian officials need to "strengthen public confidence and prevent actions that could lead to social discontent."

The "US-led system of domination" has issues with Iran as a nation, and Washington is supporting Israel in its tool of "hybrid war against the Iranian nation," he added.

This "American system of domination created a garrison called Israel nearly 80 years ago," and does not accept "the existence of a strong and independent Iran," the statement argued.

Khamenei denounces alleged 'Greater Israel' expansion police in Eid al-Ghadir statement

The US is assisting Israel in the latter's goal to achieve the "Greater Israel" borders, his statement claimed. "Greater Israel" is an allegation that right-wing and far Right movements within Israel are attempting to forcefully and surreptitiously expand Israel's state borders to those mentioned in prophetic Bible verses. These verses identify the eastern border of "Greater Israel" as the Euphrates River, which runs along the spine of Iran.

His statement also asserted that Iran's Axis of Resistance has become "a source of pride for freedom-seeking nations around the world."

The statement was read at a ceremony commemorating two notable events. Firstly, Thursday is a holy day in Shia Islam, as it commemorates Eid al-Ghadir, when Shia believe that Prophet Muhammad publicly announced his nephew and son-in-law, Ali, as his successor and called on his followers to pledge allegiance to Ali.

The second notable event is that on this day in the Islamic calendar, the leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution and first supreme leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, died, and was succeeded by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba's father.

Khamenei's Eid al-Adha statement threatens US bases in region, says Israel has 'drawn near final stages of their cursed demise'

The last statement attributed to Khamenei was published on his official X/Twitter accounts on May 26 to commemorate Eid al-Adha and the Hajj pilgrimage.

In this previous statement, he threatened that Middle East nations will "no longer serve as shields for American bases" in the region.

Khamenei also threatened Israel, calling it the “shaky Zionist regime and cancerous tumor.”

Israel has “drawn near to the final stages of their cursed demise,” he added, citing a “prescient statement” of his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, approximately a decade ago, which predicted that Israel would no longer exist 25 years from then, i.e., within 15 years from now.
