The Saudi-led coalition said that it intercepted three missiles and two drones fired by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi terrorists on Tuesday towards Riyadh and Aramco's headquarters in Dhahran.

The initial interception announcement regarding Dhahran came after loud booms were heard in the area, six sources told Reuters on Tuesday, with the coalition saying that missile fragments fell in a nearby residential area.

Aramco made no official comment or confirmation.

One source said the Aramco headquarters was on fire. An evacuation order for the building had been issued, four of the sources said.

A source with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters the Aramco headquarters had been struck, adding that it was unclear whether the building was hit directly or by falling debris.

Early warning issued for Riyadh, booms heard in city

Saudi Civil Defense issued an early warning for the country's eastern province earlier on Tuesday, then issued another for Riyadh shortly after the Dhahran interceptions.

A loud boom was heard in the Saudi capital following the warning.
