It is a dedicated magnet installed on existing crutches, allowing them to be attached to each other with a simple press. This makes it possible to hold the crutches with one hand only, leaving the other hand free for basic actions such as opening a door, carrying objects, or using a phone.

The development was born from the personal need of Anton, a soldier who was injured during the Israel-Hamas War. After returning home using crutches, he sought to find a solution that would allow him to perform daily actions independently. The solution developed for him at Restart’s technological-rehabilitation center, in collaboration with volunteer engineers from Rafael, is named after him.

At the association, they say that what began as a specific response quickly proved to have broad potential, and the product is now moving to an initial production of approximately 200 units for additional injured individuals. The magnets will be provided free of charge to anyone who needs them, as part of the rehabilitation support provided by the association.

The development is part of Restart’s "Makers" program, which connects technology professionals from the industry with injured individuals, with the aim of creating customized solutions for their daily challenges. Ahead of distribution, employees of AppsFlyer participated in a special volunteer day to assemble the kits.

Noam Dadon, CEO and founder of the Restart Association, told Walla: "Anton is exactly the story of Restart. A solution that was born from the need of one person, and becomes a response that can serve many. We meet the injured on a daily basis, understand the small challenges that make up their routine, and work to give them tools that restore real independence".

At Restart, they note that this is only the beginning of a broader initiative, within which additional solutions developed for injured individuals are expected to move into the stage of production and wide distribution, as part of the establishment of a new technological-rehabilitation center.
